Never Too Young to Read!

I had a full house last weekend. Brian, Marie and Ayden came for a visit. Josh, Renee, and Sydney also came over. Everyone took turns playing the RockBand game. I spent all of my time playing with the grandkids and reading books to them. Sydney especially loves to be read to. If she had her way she would want you to read books to her all day.

Even Ayden, as young as he is, liked it when I read him books. There was this one book I read to him about farm animals. Every time I made one of the animal sounds, he would just stare at me with these big eyes and mouth opened wide, and then look down at the book again. When I would make another animal sound he would fling his head back up again and stare at me in amazement. It was so cute!

Dave got some quality time in with Ayden. He took Ayden outside and rocked him to sleep. Here is Ayden just waking up from his nap. Look at his rosy cheeks.
We are so lucky that our grandchildren live close by. I don’t know what I will do if they move farther away from us. I’ve talked to many grandparents whose children and grandchildren are spread all over the U.S. and only get to see them once a year.

Thank you for babysitting for us! It was SO nice to go out on a date, they are so far and few between. And Penelope was such a cute movie! We had fun down there, I wish they didnt have to be such short visits.
